Newport City sign Matt Green

In an exciting development, Newport City have secured the signing of seasoned striker Matt Green to bolster our attacking lineup.

Green is a reputable figure in these parts, having featured for the City’s football league club, Newport County, in the late noughties.

Green has gone on to have an excellent career, particularly finding his feet at Mansfield Town – scoring 25 goals as they were promoted to League Two in 2013. After a brief spell with Birmingham, he would return to the Stags to score 26 goals across two fourth-tier seasons.

He most recently played for Gloucester City in the National League North.

The decision to sign Green reflects Newport City’s ambition to compete at the highest level and elevate their position in the league standings. With his arrival, the team’s manager and fans alike are hopeful that he will contribute significantly to our pursuit of success in various competitions.
